Structural Design Technician

Job Summary

Jacobs is a leading global engineering, architecture, construction, and technology firm that solves the world’s most critical problems. We are looking for a driven and curious Structural Design Technician to provide leadership and support our Built Environment team. This role is available at any location in the United States, though proximity to a Jacobs office is preferred.

• Develop design concepts, create models from scratch, and coordinate designs to consider existing conditions and other disciplines.
• Convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3D Revit models.
• Lead a small project with a team of designers, establishing project standards, procedures, training, and maintaining team morale.
• Work closely with clients and construction trade partners to provide award‑winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design‑build project delivery.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years drafting/design experience in the structural field.
• At least 1 year of Revit experience.
• At least 3 years AutoCAD design experience.

• At least 2 years of Revit experience.
• Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Experience leading a team of Designers.
• Experience with healthcare, institutional, or commercial buildings.
• Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.

Base salary range: $61,100.00 – $84,000.00 per year. Salary is paid hourly based on hours worked, with individual pay determined by location, relevant skills, and experience.
