About the Position

Travel Nurse Source  is partnering with Fusion Medical Staffing to place a qualified Operating Room RN in Bend, Oregon (zip code 97701). This 13‑week travel assignment offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.

Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications (AHA/ARC)
  • OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
  • Other relevant certifications or licenses
Essential Work Functions
  • Prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each procedure.
  • Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain workflow.
  • Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
  • Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols.
  • Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols.
  • Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases.
  • Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical stamina to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal and technical motor skills for assisting with procedures and using equipment.
  • Mental resilience for frequent patient contact, deadlines, and irregular activity schedules.
  • Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
