At Bend Parks and Recreation we are committed to delivering the best customer service possible at all of our facilities.

Prepare and serve food and beverage items and serve as cashier for The Pavilion concession operations. Perform related preparation and cleaning duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet customers and take orders.
• Prepare and serve food and beverage items.
• Serve as cashier including using point of sale system and processing cash and credit transactions.
• Perform basic food preparation duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of concession area, equipment and surrounding areas.
• Complete opening and closing procedures for concession operations.
• Assist with inventorying and stocking of products.
• Provide basic facility and program information to public.
• Assist with emergency support as directed by others.
• Acts as a Mandatory Reports; reports incidents of child abuse/neglect.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

• This is a part-time, seasonal position.
• Season: mid-October to late-March.
• Shifts available are usually afternoons and evenings at the Pavilion.

• Customer service and basic food service practices; and
• Basic math.

• Follow directions and procedures;
• Work efficiently while multitasking;
• Communicate effectively, tactfully and pleasantly with people of all ages and abilities;
• Prepare and handle food and beverage items according to established procedures;
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately;
• Operate a point of sale station; and
• Establish and maintain positive, respectful and cooperative working relationships with all contacts.

Works under the direction of a supervisor. Carries out work independently but work and decisions are typically reviewed prior to final execution.

Supervision is not normally a responsibility of this classification.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Duties are primarily performed in a concession stand, which can be hot and noisy.
• While preparing food, there may be exposure to steam, fumes and odors.
• Work is usually performed during evening and weekend hours.
• Physical exertion may include squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted when cleaning, sanitizing, inventorying and stocking products.
• Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Manual dexterity and coordination; daily precise control of fingers and hand movements while operating telephone, kitchen tools, cash register, and computer.
• The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.
