Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. • Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following food safety and temperature logs.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
• Properly operate kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, and steamers.
• Maintain stock and inventory levels, and report discrepancies.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay updated on current promotions and product knowledge.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and log temperatures.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any issues.
• Report accidents involving customers or employees.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts appropriately.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
