Join Fred Meyer as a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger and help provide an outstanding customer experience. In this role you will bag groceries, assist with loading items into customers' cars, maintain a clean and safe environment, and provide information about specials. You will also support other store duties such as shelf conditioning and returning merchandise.

Essential Job Functions

• Bag groceries at checkout, ensuring at least five items per bag and protecting contents.
• Follow best practices for bagging types (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist customers in removing items from bascarts and loading bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and return merchandise to shelves.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Gather and return bascarts to designated areas.
• Clean spills, pick up trash inside store and parking lot, and keep all areas clean.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Locate products and conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to management.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and report equipment issues.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering product questions.
• Comply with local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in high‑paced environments.
• Manage conflict constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
