As a Receiver/Stocker you keep our stores clean and presentable, ensuring a positive shopping experience. You accurately receive and replenish merchandise, safely unload freight, move items to the sales floor, and stock shelves. The role is physically demanding, requiring proper lifting procedures and readiness to move merchandise for most of the shift. Additional duties include replacing damaged shelving, maintaining a tidy backroom, handling hazardous materials, and ensuring equipment is charged.
While most of your time won’t involve customer interaction, you may be expected to answer customer questions and assist in handling merchandise.
- Ensure products are accurately received, stocked, and replenished.
- Follow proper lifting guidelines to safely stock products on shelves.
- Ensure aisles are clean, organized, and safe.
- Engage customers, vendors, and associates with a positive attitude.
- Remain vigilant and report any safety or security concerns around the store.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Ability to hear, listen, and communicate verbally with others.
- Able to use a smartphone and other common retail technology.
- Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
- Experience operating a forklift or similar equipment.
- Experience in a warehouse environment performing inventory handling and stocking.
This role does not require regular travel; however, it may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. Exposure to constant or intermittent noises, moving or shaking objects and equipment is possible. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
