Element has an opening for a Chemist III position at our Extractables and Leachables (E&L) Testing Center of Excellence in Bend, OR. The Chemist III will work in a cGMP-regulated environment under the direction of the GC Lead or other senior staff in laboratory and office settings. The role involves completing E&L project work using internal methods, protocols, and SOPs according to customer‑specific requirements, collaborating closely with team members to achieve organizational goals, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
This position offers opportunities to develop strong analytical skills in GC–MS and advance within the scientific community at Element Bend, a leader in E&L testing for the biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries.
- Member of GC‑MS team utilizing advanced analytical instrumentation to perform E&L sample and data analysis.
- Effectively perform project tasks under the direction of the GC Lead and Chromatography Manager.
- Create, revise, or review controlled procedures and participate in the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality System.
- Promote growth and development within the GC Team and the greater Element Bend organization.
- Depending on experience, may assist with protocol and report writing and reviewing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field is required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting; cGMP experience preferred.
- Prior experience in GC‑MS is required.
