Role OverviewAs a Fitness Instructor with Touchmark, you will enrich lives each day by assisting, monitoring, and instructing residents in the safe and effective use of equipment and weight machines to achieve their personal fitness goals.
Club membership is open to Touchmark residents and adults in the greater community aged 50 and over. Members enjoy a wide range of activities and classes that positively affect age-related conditions and encourage lifelong health and wellness. All programs are tailored to individual ability, skill, and fitness goals. Amenities include an indoor heated pool, a group exercise studio, one‑on‑one personal training, a fully‑equipped fitness studio, and a Neuro Com Balance Master system.
ResponsibilitiesThis role may be structured as full‑time or part‑time, depending on candidate availability and community needs.
Ideal Candidate- Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (hospitality, compassion, excellence, teamwork, and integrity) and desire to model these values and encourage others to be allies, friends, and givers.
- Current personal training certification through an NCCA accredited organization is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in an exercise science‑related discipline.
- Be excellent at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- At least five years’ experience working as a Certified Personal Trainer or Exercise Physiologist.
- At least five years’ experience working with a mature population.
- Experience instructing group exercise classes in the format their certification is in.
- Experience instructing yoga, both chair & mat.
- A positive, upbeat, and energetic approach to health, wellness, teamwork, and hospitality.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or be willing to obtain upon hire.
