Thundersley Primary School is a warm, nurturing and ambitious school where every child is encouraged to Be the Best They Can Be. As part of Robus Multi Academy Trust, we work collaboratively with local schools to strengthen inclusion and professional practice.
We are seeking a skilled, approachable and committed Inclusion Lead to fulfil the statutory SENCO role and support high-quality inclusive practice across the school. This is a full-time post with the time and support needed to make a real difference for children and families.
Working alongside the Headteacher and senior leaders, the Inclusion Lead will coordinate SEND and inclusion practice, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met with rigour and that inclusive practice is embedded in everyday classroom life.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an excellent primary teacher with consistently strong practice
- Has a deep commitment to inclusion and high expectations for pupils with SEND
- Is confident leading SEND provision, statutory processes and professional conversations
- Can support and challenge staff to strengthen inclusive practice
- Builds positive, trusting relationships with families and external professionals
- Is organised, resilient and able to manage competing demands effectively
- Holds, or is willing to complete, the statutory SENCO qualification
The successful candidate will:
- Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the SENCO role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children
- Work closely with pastoral, attendance and family-support colleagues
- Bring clarity, professionalism and care to complex situations
