QTS Class Teacher - Specialist School

We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Class Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school in Southend‑on‑Sea, supporting pupils with severe, moderate and complex learning needs.

While the role is based in Southend‑on‑Sea, we warmly welcome applications from teachers living in or able to commute from the following areas:

• Chelmsford
• Stanford‑le‑Hope
• Billericay
• Wickford
• Grays
• Benfleet
• Southend and surrounding areas

A specialism in Maths or English would be highly desirable. However, the ability and willingness to teach across a range of subjects is essential to meet the diverse needs of learners within this specialist setting.

Previous experience in a special needs setting is not essential. We are looking for teachers who are committed, reflective and motivated to make a genuine difference.

• Plan highly individualised learning pathways tailored to each pupil
• Contribute meaningfully to Annual Reviews and collaborative work with families

• Work alongside Curriculum Leaders to plan, assess and review learning
• Support quality assurance alongside the Senior Leadership Team
• Maintain excellent communication and safeguarding practices
• Track and narrate learner progress and next steps
• Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position; in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
