Warehouse Operative​/Relief Driver

The Warehouse Operative / Relief Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in Basildon. Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving and unloading deliveries, checking goods against documentation, and safely storing, picking, and packing products for dispatch. The role involves operating material handling equipment, maintaining an organised and clean warehouse environment, and following established health and safety procedures. As a relief driver, the position includes loading vehicles, delivering orders to customers across London and the South East, and representing the company professionally during customer interactions.

The role requires accurate record-keeping, collaboration with colleagues, and flexibility to support other warehouse tasks as needed.

• Experience with core warehouse operations, including unloading, packing, and general material handling.
• Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment; valid forklift certification is an advantage.
• Strong awareness of health & safety practices, with a commitment to safe working and manual handling procedures.
• Clean and valid driving licence suitable for light commercial vehicles; previous delivery experience is beneficial.
• Good attention to detail, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and ability to accurately follow delivery and stock documentation.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented warehouse environment.
• Physical capability to handle regular lifting, moving, and loading tasks in a busy warehouse setting.
• Previous experience in distribution, logistics, or a laboratory supply environment is an advantage but not essential.

Due to the nature of our products, the successful candidate will be required to complete an ADR (Carriage of Dangerous Goods) qualification. Full support will be provided to obtain this certification.
