Floater Teacher Assistant at United Counseling Service
Join us as a Floater Teacher Assistant to support classroom operations across our 15 facilities and help children feel welcome, valued, comfortable, and secure. This role supports teachers by providing breaks, covering meetings, assisting with classroom and facility maintenance, supervising play activities, and ensuring documentation and safety compliance.

- Education: Cooperate with the teacher and/or manager to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations. Provide teachers with breaks, cover meetings, replenish food, assist with cleaning, and substitute in the classroom as needed.
- Classroom activities: Supervise play and group activities, help children participate in individual activities, observe and report behaviors, and support teaching teams.
- Classroom and facility maintenance: Clean the classroom, sweep floors, bag trash, shut lights, air‑conditioners, and windows, lock doors, conduct playground safety checks, assist with kitchen duties, and maintain common areas.
- Documentation: Ensure compliance with Office of Head Start and Child Care Licensing regulations. Maintain Bright Futures Quality Credential, assist teachers with case notes, and manage child sign‑in/out procedures.
- Bus monitor: Assist children to seat, secure harnesses, maintain bus safety, engage children during routes, clean the bus, and support driver checks and evacuation drills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must hold a valid Child Development Associate Certification (CDA) or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (AA) or be enrolled in a program leading to a CDA or AA within 2 years of employment start date.
- Valid driver’s license.
