Registered Nurse; RN-Women’s and Children Services, Nights

Overview

The RN for Women’s and Children’s Services is responsible for providing nursing care to obstetric and pediatric patients. In coordination with physicians, providers, and care team the RN develops, discusses and communicates a care plan for each patient. The RN also performs patient and caregiver education to ensure informed patient decision can be made, including, but not limited to medication side effects, treatment options, discharge instructions, reportable conditions and ranges of services.

• Provide direct nursing care to obstetric and pediatric patients in collaboration with the care team.
• Develop, discuss, and communicate individualized care plans with physicians and other providers.
• Educate patients and caregivers to support informed decisions, including information on medication side effects, treatment options, discharge instructions, reportable conditions, and service ranges.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Prior nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain a valid Vermont State Registered Nurse license by date of employment required.
• Current Health Care Provider (BLS) certification required.
