The veterinary assistant provides primary support to the entire team, aiding with a variety of services to deliver excellent client and patient care.

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and assist in caring for animals after surgery.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Aid with routine diagnostic tests (e.g., taking radiographs, running bloodwork, reading fecal exams).
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments/equipment.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas.
• Administer medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision.
• Feed and bathe animals.
• Answer phones and provide customer service.
• Help clients with their pets.

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Must be a self‑starter, able to multitask, and a team player.
• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and can handle them even when stressed, ill, or in pain.
• Prefer 1+ years of experience, but not required.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job: lifting, carrying, and restraining animals up to 40 lb. (Staff assistance available for animals over 40 lb).
• Walks or stands for extended periods; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.
• Experienced in teamwork, working well with all levels of the hospital team.

Hourly rate: $14.00–$16.00 (based on experience).
