Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and proactively seek product knowledge to provide customers with information and identify selling opportunities. They follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier may position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in the supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates.

The preferred qualification for a Head Cashier is 1+ years of Cashier experience.

• Provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe cashiering service.
• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Adhere to policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Assist in supervising, coaching, and training of Front End Associates; participate in training new Cashiers and using tools to coach and develop others.
• Support Head Cashier with price checks, POS transactions, and markdown approvals as needed.

• Experience as a Cashier (1+ years preferred) or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and work in a fast-paced environment.
