Manifest Specialist – Arcwood Environmental

About the RoleThe Manifest Specialist prepares and maintains manifest papers, labels, placards, and associated paperwork needed for the shipment and handling of waste materials. The role includes clerical duties, compliance with DOT, EPA, and state regulations, and supports other Manifest Specialists as required.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Ensure health & safety policies are followed and maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible records with an error rate of less than 2%.
- Create manifest papers, labels, and placards and review manifest order forms for DOT, EPA, and state compliance.
- Prepare Fed Ex shipping labels for outgoing sample kits for Customer Service and Sales staff.
- Prioritize orders to ensure prompt delivery of manifest packets.
- Assist and provide coverage for other Manifest Specialists as needed.
- Provide package tracking information to Customer Service.
- Maintain inventory of materials needed for manifest packets and perform weekly inventory checks.
- Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve issues with timely, accurate service.
- Manage an organized email folder system and use reminder tools to schedule and prioritize tasks.
- Notify ECC/CACs of pending “Red” stops prior to sending paperwork packet.
- Attend mandatory training classes.
- Assist with development of system improvements and participate in management initiatives.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a professional office setting.
- Experience with customer service, administrative training, and knowledge of hazardous waste regulations preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced, multi‑faced work environment.
- Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, data entry, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in comprehending technical information.
- Commitment to maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
