Recreational Therapy Aide/Activity Coordinator Days and Hours Vary
Some weekend schedules will apply.
ResponsibilitiesRecreational Therapy Aide will work alongside the Recreational Therapist to plan, organize, and lead the recreation therapy program, as well as direct patient care. The role includes establishing, initiating, and conducting the recreation therapy treatment program—including leisure education, aerobics, creative expression, outdoor education, community reintegration, and special events—for patients.
The Recreational Therapy Aide will complete appropriate and assigned written materials, documents, and forms to assist in patient documentation and communication within the department. The candidate must be willing to treat all patients with respect and work as a team with staff and coworkers.
As a Per Dien employee, the candidate will not be eligible for the comprehensive benefits package but will be able to select shifts that fit their schedule and needs.
Qualifications- Education:
High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. CTRS preferred. - Experience:
History of working in an inpatient acute care setting preferred and experience with conducting appropriate groups for a specific patient population. - Training: CPR, HWC, and verbal de-escalation training necessary and may be provided upon hire at the hospital.
