Summary Of PositionWe are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Planner - Land Development to lead strategy, planning, and execution of private land development projects while managing a team. This role is central to our private‑sector operations.

Responsibilities- Oversee corporate programs, including contract preparation, scheduling, project assignment, performance tracking, mentorship, and client liaison.
- Oversee complex projects requiring senior‑level experience, providing expertise in site planning, due diligence, land use entitlements, and construction permitting.
- Research and analyze regulatory standards and procedures for project proposals and collaborate with clients to resolve key issues.
- Collaborate with the project team to develop site plans that meet client objectives.
- Prepare accurate due diligence reports, environmental checklists, and project narratives with findings.
- Oversee subconsultant contracts and deliverables such as land survey, traffic, geotechnical, and environmental studies, and ensure timely preparation of high‑quality land use entitlement applications.
- Advocate for prompt review of application materials and coordinate responses to comments.
- Represent the client at meetings and public hearings to secure project approval.
- Oversee staff processing of ministerial construction permit applications.
- Use standard tracking tools, checklists, and file‑management systems to refine and improve materials and procedures.
- Review, process, and track invoicing for client accounts with the accounting department.
- Coordinate with the Director of Planning Services on staffing needs and assist with interviews upon request.
- Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning, geography, urban design, or a closely related field.
- At least seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in land development or a related field.
- Proficient knowledge of project management processes and land development principles.
- Proven track record of leading high‑performing teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving successful project outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize a diverse workload, resolve complex issues, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and public speaking skills.
- Experience in multiple sectors preferred (commercial, industrial, residential, energy, etc.).
You will work with a team of assistant planners and project planners.
Work LocationThis can be a hybrid position out of our Kent, WA;
Roseville, CA; or Bentonville, AR offices, or a remote role in CA or WA.
