Base Pay Range

$17.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Position Summary

Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware and using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold. Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy, stocks and rotates merchandise and supplies, signs and prices merchandise, and secures fragile and high‑shrink merchandise. Maintains the Pharmacy area according to company policies and procedures, handles claims and returns, and completes required paperwork.

Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process. Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy's professional reputation and provides patients/members with pharmacy products and services in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and corporate policies. Provides patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging the member, initiating the prescription fulfillment process at the pharmacy drop‑off window, creating prescription orders, and resolving member issues.

Enters prescription data into pharmacy software, transcribes prescription data, and creates or modifies patient/member records. Fills prescriptions, counts, pours, or reconstitutes medications, selects, fills, and labels prescription containers, and operates scanning equipment or automated dispensing systems. Provides member assistance during prescription pick‑up, verifies and enters patient information, and gathers electronic signatures. Completes work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources, and adapts to change or feedback.

  • Operate cash registers and related hardware for member purchases.
  • Stock, rotate, sign, price, and secure merchandise and supplies.
  • Handle claims, returns, and perform merchandising functions such as pricing and signage.
  • Monitor and resolve prescription fulfillment issues.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription fulfillment, claims processing, and customer service.
  • Enter prescription data and maintain patient/member records.
  • Fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, pouring, and labeling.
  • Assist members during prescription pick‑up, verify information, and obtain electronic signatures.
  • Prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and recommend improvements.
  • Adhere to company policies and ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Meet all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
