Systems Engineer, Data Engineer
Position Summary:
The Senior Data Center Facilities Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining 24x7 data center operations, ensuring reliable performance of power, cooling, and building management systems. This role partners closely with data center leadership to drive strategic initiatives, ensure compliance, and deliver operational excellence across enterprise data centers.
- Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of a 24x7 data center, including power, cooling, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Lead routine to complex maintenance and repair activities for data center equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, fire, and BMS systems.
- Coordinate major preventive maintenance and project activities by partnering with key stakeholders across multiple enterprise data centers.
- Forecast and drive strategic long-range goals and projects in partnership with the data center manager.
- Collaborate with data center architects and engineers to plan capacity upgrades and expansions to support current and future business needs.
- Develop and implement energy efficiency initiatives to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.
- Ensure compliance with Walmart security policies and regulatory standards, including OSHA, NFPA, and EPA.
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Develop and manage data center facilities budgets, including capital and operational expenditures.
- Lead data center projects from planning through execution and delivery, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Build collaborative partnerships across enterprise data centers and provide guidance and mentorship to data center facilities engineers.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field,
and/or 8 years of experience in data center facilities engineering and operations. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or senior engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of data center facilities technologies, including power, cooling, and Building Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of data center design, implementation, and operations.
- Experience using enterprise applications such as Maximo, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Service Now.
- Expert knowledge of creating and executing Methods of Procedures (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Walmart's code of conduct and compliance policies.
- Work performed in a modern, state-of-the-art data center environment.
- Schedule may include night shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations as required.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Stock.
