Senior Data Analyst, Operations - Last Mile Delivery

Position Summary

As a Senior Data Analyst, Operations in Walmart’s Last Mile Delivery Network Operations Center, you will be the data backbone of real‑time decision‑making during high‑impact disruptions—ranging from holidays and major events to weather and system outages. In this fast‑paced role, you’ll analyze live metrics, develop dashboards and models, and deliver actionable insights that directly influence last‑mile delivery execution. You’ll collaborate with complex cross‑functional teams to solve problems at scale and help shape how Walmart responds to dynamic operational challenges.

• Data Analysis & Reporting – Analyze large datasets to identify performance trends, root causes, and operational insights. Generate recurring and ad‑hoc reports to inform strategic decisions and daily execution.
• Escalation & Operations Support – Monitor real‑time metrics and support incident response by identifying issues, escalating critical items, and partnering cross‑functionally to drive resolution and communication.
• Decision Support Modeling – Build and maintain models (e.g., forecast, capacity, or scenario planning) that support operational and business decisions, using tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Excel.
• Dashboard Development & Data Visualization – Design, build, and maintain dashboards that communicate performance clearly to business stakeholders, using tools such as Tableau.
• Execution Ownership – Partner closely with operations managers, product teams, and field stakeholders to translate insights into coordinated actions. Act as the data lead during live events, helping drive decisions that ensure delivery quality and customer satisfaction.

• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries and building business intelligence reports using Tableau or Power BI.
• Proven ability to define requirements, work with large datasets, and use data and metrics to generate meaningful business insights.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, real‑time environment; able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and support incident response with data.
• Experience making data‑driven business recommendations and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders across operations, product, and leadership teams.
• Effective communicator who can clearly explain analysis and insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Salary range: $80,000.00–$. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and, for certain positions, stock.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 2 years’ experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 4 years’ experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

• Data science, data analysis, or statistics background.
• Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Information Technology.
• Related industry experience (e.g., retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce).
• Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau).
