Counsel - Real Estate Legal

Position Summary

This Counsel Real Estate role supports Walmart’s real estate strategy and operations, including omni‑channel initiatives, acquisition, construction, dispositions, and portfolio management.

• Draft, review, edit, and negotiate real estate contracts.
• Identify and address transactional and operational legal issues from cutting‑edge initiatives.
• Craft novel legal solutions to drive business growth.
• Advise company decisions by clarifying rights, obligations, and risks.
• Counsel officers and associates on alternative legal and business strategies.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and business partners to deliver cross‑functional projects.
• Partner with compliance and litigation partners to mitigate trending risk.
• Evaluate and develop standard operating procedures, policies, guides, training, and communications.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to real estate matters.

• Subject matter expertise in real estate law; significant experience with acquisition, construction, and property management of retail and industrial projects.

• Law degree from an accredited law school and at least 4 years of legal experience.
• License to practice law in at least one state.
