The Peel Compton Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Bentonville, AR, operates the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park. Its mission is to connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation.
Job Summary: The Annual Fund Manager will assist the Director of Development by pursuing funding from a variety of sources, participating in fundraising drives, and preparing proposals. This role demands strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to track and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial objectives and policies for the foundation.
- Develop and strategize ways to expand the donor database to meet annual fundraising goals.
- Plan and conduct face‑to‑face visits to cultivate annual gifts.
- Prepare grant applications and fundraising proposals under the Director of Development’s supervision; jointly present proposals.
- Assist the Director of Development, board of directors, volunteer fundraisers, and other stakeholders with public fundraising drives.
- Research previous fundraising efforts for efficiency.
- Ensure majors gift officers are kept abreast when a donor moves into a major gift range.
- Develop targeted reporting and tracking for assigned segment.
- Modify applications to conform to grant requirements when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising, development, and marketing (preferred experience).
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent analytical abilities to align the organization’s objectives with available funding opportunities.
- Previous fundraising experience (minimum two years).
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least two years of fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector.
Physical Requirements: The position requires standing, walking, handling objects, speaking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Work is performed 40% in the field and 60% in an administrative office setting. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for qualified individuals with disabilities.
