Position Summary
The Seller Compliance team ensures adherence to legal, regulatory, and company standards by third-party sellers. This team monitors controls and seller activities, enforces compliance policies, and collaborates across departments to mitigate risks and protect customers. Leveraging data-driven insights and strategic partnerships, the team upholds marketplace integrity through transparency and trust. Members actively contribute to continuous improvement and compliance risk management, supporting Walmart’s commitment to ethical business practices and regulatory adherence while promoting accountability and operational excellence throughout the organization.
The Director, Specialty Compliance and Ethics - Seller Lifecycle leads the development and execution of compliance strategies across the seller lifecycle within our marketplace ecosystem to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements. This person ensures that sellers meet regulatory, ethical, and operational standards throughout the seller’s lifecycle through ongoing monitoring. The director directs policy creation, risk mitigation, and training initiatives while collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders to address compliance gaps.
By leveraging industry best practices and data analysis, the Director will bring deep expertise in compliance, risk management, and marketplace operations. This person leads talent development and cross-functional alignment.
- Design and implement a holistic seller compliance framework covering lifecycle behaviors, monitoring, enforcement, and offboarding.
- Lead the creation and refinement of seller compliance policies.
- Partner with Legal, Marketplace Risk, and Operations to align compliance initiatives with business goals.
- Collaborate with Tech teams to build tools that automate compliance checks, reporting, and communications.
- Drive adoption of AI and ML models to proactively detect and prevent violations.
- Establish KPIs and KRIs to track compliance performance and trends across the seller base.
- Develop training programs for sellers and internal teams on compliance expectations and best practices.
- Extensive experience in compliance management, risk governance, and mitigation within complex regulatory environments.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Expertise in policy development, internal controls, and compliance risk management aligned with business strategy.
- Strong stakeholder management and effective communication skills to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Ability to analyze data and key performance metrics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and implement training programs and compliance strategies addressing regulatory changes.
