Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance​/Drywall Installer​/Painter

Position Summary

What you'll do:
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety proper functionality and aesthetics of facilities equipment or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines inspecting cleaning and repairing facilities equipment or fixtures observing and documenting signs of wear and tear gathering capital expense information recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs determining replacement needs and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

Experienced in all phases of drywall and painting from repair to full installation able to inspect surfaces prep patch tape mud sand and paint for a seamless look uses proper materials and tools for interior and exterior projects matches paint colors and finishes to existing surfaces keeps detailed maintenance records and trains others on safe efficient repair techniques ensures every job meets company quality standards and looks sharp.

• Repairs install and finish drywall using taping mudding and sanding techniques
• Performs wall inspections identifies damage and completes patching or full panel replacement
• Preps surface primes and paints using rollers brushes or sprayers for smooth professional finish
• Selects paint types of colors and finishes to match existing décor and durability needs
• Trains junior staff on drywall handling surface prep and safe painting practices
• Maintains clean work areas and documents all repairs and material usage
• Ensures projects meet company quality and safety standards while minimizing downtime

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities equipment or fixtures and oversees work of junior level associates by determining scopes of work for projects acting as a job foreman on assigned work sites utilizing multiple craft skills for example plumbing electrical carpentry material handling equipment food equipment inspecting operating or testing facilities equipment or fixtures to diagnose issues dismantling equipment machines or facilities to access and remove defective parts diagnose problems utilizing blueprints repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary utilizing hand tools power tools hoists and other equipment providing prompt response to emergency calls documenting repair activities evaluating technicians skill sets providing onsite training sessions performing onsite repairs for hands-on learning and ensuring completed work meets or exceeds quality safety and code requirements.

Ensures financial sustainability and manages work orders maintenance schedules and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information for example expense vouchers weekly summaries work orders maintenance logs conducting price comparison of parts and travel related costs ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders recording purchases and usage managing parts inventory reviews journals and invoices compiling and reporting budget information submitting warranty claims complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA and Environmental Protection Agency EPA regulations and guidelines ensuring quality work is completed that complies with federal state and local regulations developing relationships with local parts suppliers and contractors ensuring contractors follow Walmart quality standards safety requirements and meet contract requirements identifying and reporting deficiencies unloading and storing equipment and transporting equipment between facilities.

Demonstrates Up To Date  expertise and applies this to the development execution and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
