Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM), a division of Stanley Black & Decker, is a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. The role is located in Berea, OH.
What You’ll Do- Interpret and analyze specifications—including blueprints, sketches, models, and descriptions—to visualize products, determine required materials, and select appropriate machines and processes for fabrication.
- Coordinate the ordering and procurement of materials necessary to complete tooling projects.
- Set up and operate a variety of precision machine tools—including lathes, mills, grinders, and wire EDM—to fabricate parts and tooling components to exact specifications.
- Inspect and verify the conformance of machined parts by measuring dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precision instruments such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers.
- Evaluate and maintain existing dies, tools, gauges, jigs, and fixtures; recommend and implement design modifications to improve construction, function, or performance.
- Develop specifications and create detailed sketches or drawings for specialty tools based on general descriptions or unique requirements.
- Assemble and rigorously test newly manufactured mechanisms to ensure proper operation and quality standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on all tools and dies to ensure optimal performance and minimize production downtime.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the tool room and manufacturing operations.

Qualifications and Requirements- Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or accredited technical school in a relevant field such as machining, manufacturing technology, or industrial maintenance.
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience working in a toolroom environment with demonstrated expertise in tool and die making, machining, or related activities.
- Technical and Computer
Skills:- Basic proficiency with computers.
- Ability to learn and utilize specialized software or digital tools as required for toolroom operations.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Journeyman Tool & Die Maker and/or Journeyman Machinist certification is required or highly preferred.
- Specialized Knowledge and Training:
- Comprehensive safety training at all levels and understanding of safe work practices.
- Knowledge of proper handling, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret a variety of documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings, and procedure manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.
- Regularly required to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent walking and occasional bending, reaching, and other physical activities associated with operating machinery and handling materials.
- Working Conditions:
- Frequent work close to moving mechanical parts and machinery.
- Exposed to moderate to loud noise levels throughout the workday with PPE provided as required.
