As a Mechanical Field Technician, your main responsibilities include:

• Conducting field activities such as repairing, modifying, and refurbishing mechanical equipment, primarily compressors, pumps, gearboxes, pressure systems, and valves at various European facilities.
• Investigating equipment failures, determining root causes, and recommending solutions to reduce recurrence or eliminate failure causes, while providing hands-on support as needed.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the development, implementation, and periodic review of preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned shutdowns and improve overall plant capability.
• Keeping abreast of and evaluating new methodologies, work practices, and technologies for application within the plant.
• Ensuring error-free execution and maintaining the highest work standards while applying a philosophy of continuous improvement.
• Ensuring all repair and overhaul work is carried out effectively and within budget.
• Being available after hours for mechanical breakdowns and planned activities, demonstrating flexibility to support operations across Europe.
• Developing specialized skills in the maintenance of cryogenic expanders, pumps, and compressor valves.

To be successful, you will have:

• A completed vocational training as an industrial mechanic or in a similar technical field.
• A flexible working style and willingness to travel for extended periods.
• Relevant experience in maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various analytical systems.
• Experience in training and mentoring other employees.
• A valid driver's license and passport.
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; knowledge of German is a plus.
• Experience in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
• A team-oriented approach and willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Knowledge of centrifugal and reciprocating compressor maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to conduct critical measurements using precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of pumps, gear drives, fans, vessels, and heat exchangers.
