Lab Technician Plant Virology

Our client is a leading company in the agricultural sector, focusing on the production of high-quality seeds and crop protection products. With multiple locations in the Netherlands, where teams work on innovative solutions for vegetable cultivation, the company contributes to sustainable and efficient agriculture. They are looking for a laboratory assistant to support quality control for a dynamic laboratory team.

As a Laboratory Technician Plant Virology, you will be part of a team responsible for performing routine quality checks on vegetable seeds and tissue. Your main task will be to detect viral pathogens, for which accuracy and consistency are essential. Although you will be working in a high-volume environment, the emphasis is on performing standard procedures and generating reliable test results.

This position is for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

• Performing laboratory activities and administrative tasks according to the established schedule
• Preparing seed and tissue samples for analysis
• Performing ELISA tests on selected samples
• Working with standard laboratory equipment such as pipettes, incubators, and autoclaves
• Preparing reagents, media, and controls as needed
• Recording and analyzing results in the LIMS system

• HBO degree in a relevant field (Master's or higher will not be considered)
• At least 1 year of experience with ELISA methods or 2+ years' experience in a laboratory setting
• Skilled in the use of standard laboratory equipment
• Good command of Dutch and English
• Accurate and able to perform routine tasks within a team environment

• Salary indication: €2738 gross per month based on 38-hour workweek
• Travel allowance: €0.23 per kilometer or full public transport allowance
• Secondment contract for 6 months, with possibility of extension
