We are looking for a Senior VFD technician to install and repair VFD systems for our clients in the NY/NJ area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units in the field. You will also respond to equipment breakdowns, conduct on-site repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and advise on equipment upgrades. Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of multiple brands of VFDs.
- Work with management to run an efficient service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacks.
- Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Provide valid options for additional work and service based on established protocols.
- Prioritize following safety procedures and maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
- Valid driver’s license required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladder.
- Strong working knowledge of three-phase motors and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions including reading and understanding P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Possess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems.

- Ability to prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
- Team player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
- Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA & 0-10 Vdc devices.
- Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Prior experience with gas detection systems, and Dri Steem humidifiers is a plus.
Estimated Salary: $45 - $64 hourly, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
