VFD Service Technician

We are looking for a Senior VFD technician to install and repair VFD systems for our clients in the NY/NJ area. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of VFD units in the field. You will also respond to equipment breakdowns, conduct on-site repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and advise on equipment upgrades. • Troubleshoot, start-up, commission and verify proper functionality of multiple brands of VFDs.
• Work with management to run an efficient service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
• Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize callbacks.
• Keep management and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Provide valid options for additional work and service based on established protocols.
• Prioritize following safety procedures and maintain a constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of others.

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with multiple manufacturers of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
• Valid driver’s license required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work from heights/a ladder.
• Strong working knowledge of three-phase motors and control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as electrical and mechanical drawings, safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions including reading and understanding P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Possess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems.

• SST
• Ability to prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
• Team player with good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
• Mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA & 0-10 Vdc devices.
• Exceptional ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Prior experience with gas detection systems, and Dri Steem humidifiers is a plus.

Estimated Salary: $45 - $64 hourly, with flexibility based on experience and skills.
