Temporary, Part-Time Instructor (American Sign Language)
The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in American Sign Language.
Responsibilities:
- Teach American Sign Language courses
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of professional experience in American Sign Language
- OR Possession of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university AND six (6) years of professional experience in American Sign Language
- OR May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in American Sign Language (ASL)
- OR The equivalent qualifications
Desirable
Qualifications:
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Application Procedures:
- Current resume of experience, formal education/training and qualifications
- Copies of supporting credentials, if applicable
- Copies of transcripts from fully accredited college or university institutions
Conditions of Employment:
- Tuberculosis Examination:
Prior to employment, the successful candidate will be required to submit evidence of being free of tuberculosis within the past sixty (60) days - Fingerprinting Requirement:
As a condition of employment, all employees working for community colleges in the State of California are required to be fingerprinted within the first ten (10) working days of the date of employment - Immigration Requirement:
The Peralta Community College District is required to verify that all new employees are authorized to work in the United States
