Reports to:Program Director

Classification:Full-Time, FLSA Exempt

Pay Range:$110,000 - $115,000

Location:Berkeley, CA 94709

Schedule:Tuesday
- Saturday 10a-6p
(on call - one weekend a month)

Position Summary:The Associate Program Director supports the Program Director in managing the Residential Treatment Program. Responsibilities include providing clinical and administrative leadership, supervising a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with licensing and quality standards. The program serves adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the clinical team.
  • Assist in program oversight and compliance.
  • Provide crisis management and share on-call responsibilities.
  • Facilitate therapeutic interventions and groups.
  • Ensure quality clinical treatment and documentation.
  • Oversee medication management and resident assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed clinician (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD/PsyD) with an advanced degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in mental health and substance recovery treatment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a therapeutic program.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Pass background checks and meet community care licensing criteria.

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations and de-escalate effectively.
  • Proficient in documentation standards and computer skills.
  • Commitment to harm reduction and recovery principles.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
