Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Behavioral Health, the incumbent will provide direct supervision and clinical oversight of mobile crisis operations, performing a wide range of complex tasks with a high level of autonomy. The role supervises licensed clinicians and training staff providing mobile crisis responses to the campus, including the University Village site. Responsibilities include evaluating and ensuring the quality of Mobile Crisis services, performing psychological evaluation, diagnosis, counseling, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention with individuals and groups.

The incumbent develops psycho‑educational programs, provides clinical supervision, ensures provider adherence to professional standards, and offers consultation on complex, high‑risk issues. Participation in policy development and staff training is also required, along with assistance in evaluating and improving clinical processes for mobile crisis services delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage a crisis mobile program serving individuals in and around campus experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners, law enforcement, and external stakeholders to accept referrals.
  • Provide crisis triage, risk assessment, in‑person mental health and sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH) intervention, and case management.
  • Promote an inclusive workplace, demonstrating inclusive behavior and maintaining a safe, professional environment.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day operations and oversee a team of crisis response clinicians who respond to calls, providing services directly to individuals of all ages and demographics.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of the mobile crisis team; recommend policy changes to improve processes and patient services.
  • Support the Behavioral Health Manager in tracking and monitoring operational and budget processes, staffing, human resources, communications, and space planning.
  • Act as primary supervisor of record for subordinates; train, manage, evaluate, and retain program staff and clinical team, ensuring high‑quality, culturally competent service delivery.
  • Coordinate scheduling and work assignments to assure optimal services; promote staff and student safety by monitoring compliance with health & safety policies.
  • Provide backup on‑call or crisis mental health and SVSH support as needed across University Health Services; serve as liaison with community partners to integrate equity, diversity, and inclusion in all patient care, training, and outreach services.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel, monitor skills, guide and observe staff needing assistance, and provide administrative and clinical supervision to licensed clinicians.
  • Guide clinicians in addressing complex mental health issues; provide consultation on high‑risk cases, challenging client interactions, and treatment strategies.
  • Ensure direct reports accurately document all client‑related activities within the established timeframe; implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Monitor and support staff in meeting clinical productivity goals; address low productivity and other performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the manager of data and quality assurance and the Clinical Director to ensure provider adherence to standards, policies, and external regulations.
  • Assess competency, conduct proctoring, complete performance reviews, and address personnel issues directly, including grievances and complaints.
  • Provide support to the Student Mental Health outreach team and peer programming; collaborate with campus partners for marketing, public awareness, and community engagement; coordinate with dispatch services for seamless care response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Master's in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling OR Doctorate in clinical psychology or counseling, post‑doctoral work required.
