Position Summary: Provides intercollegiate athletes with injury prevention training, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Responsibilities- Applies professional concepts to deliver comprehensive, individualized training to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and provide rehabilitation for chronic and acute injuries and conditions. Utilizes treatment plans incorporating full range of therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Screens and refers injured athletes to athletic team physicians or other medical services.
- Travel with sports teams.
- Provides moderate to complex rehabilitation of athletic injuries through therapeutic exercise programs.
- Maintains athletic training facilities and equipment; ensures all equipment is fully operational and training rooms are maintained according to standards.
- Reports injuries, completes appropriate documentation, and maintains medical charts.
- Maintains discretion and confidentiality; handles sensitive matters involving athletic injuries and treatment.
- Enforces safety procedures.
- Works collaboratively and organizes work assignments, developing recommendations.
- Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete within required timelines.
- Provides manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine.
- Other professional development responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Professional certification in athletic training or related field.
- Computer skills in relevant programs.
- Extensive knowledge of athletic injury prevention, therapeutic modalities, devices, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive matters involving injuries and treatments.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
- For positions associated with sports medicine, current knowledge of NCAA or NAIA rules and standards.
- Strong collaborative skills with athletes, physicians, and staff; effective verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures and campus budget requirements for athletic equipment and supplies.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong manual therapy skills applicable to orthopedics and sports medicine.
- Master's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
Salary range: $74,700.00 – $80,000.00 (annually). This is an exempt monthly‑paid position. Comprehensive benefits package available. Overall salary range for the classification: $74,700.00 – $.
