Director of Nursing

Terraces at Los Altos, a distinguished Human Good life plan community, is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) for its Health Center team. Under limited supervision, the DON plans, directs, organizes, and evaluates nursing services to meet the total needs of the community's residents; ensures an efficient health facility operation in cooperation with other departments and in compliance with state and federal regulations;

and provides care in accordance with our “Philosophy for Person-Directed Care.”

** $135K-$160K (DOE) plus performance-based incentives ** $5,000 sign-on bonus!

Essential duties and responsibilities of the DON include, but may not be limited to:

• Making daily rounds to observe residents and ensure that staffing levels meet residents' needs;
• Ensuring all appropriate and necessary nursing care is provided in the Skilled Nursing setting;
• Interacting with residents and families/responsible parties and staff; answers questions, gives directions and support;
• Directing admissions and discharges within the Health Center; coordinating with the acute hospital, assisted living, and independent living staff;
• Supervises nursing and management staff including scheduling, hiring, training, and evaluating; acts on team member concerns;

What you will need to be successful in this role:

• Completion of Accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN)
• Current CA RN License
• Current CPR certification
• BS Degree, Masters preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and related professional experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional managerial experience in a related field
• Excellent clinical observation and assessment skills
• Proficient computer skills necessary to complete documentation, review electronic health records, and communicate with team members
