American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN with a CA RN license and prior travel experience for a night shift position.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to Antepartum unit
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery support
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- Experience caring for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
- Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Manage overall nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients from admission through discharge
- Respond to medical and environmental emergencies as needed
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including resuscitation and thermoregulation support
- Provide postpartum care including couplet care and lactation support
- Holiday coverage required for one assigned holiday per contract (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
- Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
