American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week evening shift assignment requiring prior travel experience and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit, floating to Antepartum as needed
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours (3:00 PM-3:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and forceps/vacuum extraction
- Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruptio, and multiple gestation
- Experience with postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and breastfeeding support
- Knowledge of fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Serve as primary nurse managing overall patient care from admission to discharge
- Responsible for patient safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention measures
- Respond to medical and environmental emergencies as needed
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Returning staff or travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning
