Refrigeration Rack Service Technician – Full‑time (High school degree, $18.00 – $40.00 per hour)
RSC Mechanical is a family‑owned and family‑run company headquartered in Michigan with customers located across the U.S. We are seeking Commercial Refrigeration Service Technicians who are passionate about learning, growth, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems (walk‑ins, reach‑ins, ice machines, parallel rack systems, etc.)
- Work with CO₂ refrigeration rack systems, including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of transcritical and subcritical systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and system checks
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals
- Replace or repair compressors, motors, fans and other key components
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC/refrigeration systems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; extensive driving is a key part of the role
- Technicians expected to provide their own standard hand tools
- Ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills with clients, team members, and management
- Capable of working under pressure in fast‑paced or high‑stress environments
- Self‑starter who can work independently and as part of a team
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Overtime may be required based on workload
- Participation in an on‑call rotation following the training period
