Apply NOW for the Summer 2026 season! The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Senior Aquatics Specialist (Non-Career) in the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department! In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide instruction in swim and serve as a lifeguard at assigned swimming facilities. You’ll teach swim skills at all levels and supervise the conduct of swimmers in order to maintain health and safety standards.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of two (2) summer/seasons in lifeguard or swim-instruction experience in the organized recreational or educational program dealing with swim instruction, lifeguarding, or coaching.
- Possession of a valid Water Safety Instruction card which requires an Advanced Life-Saving Certificate and successful completion of first-aid and CPR training.
