Position Description
Interim Secret Clearance Required to Start.
The team is seeking an Electrical Component, Assembly, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) Engineer (Senior Level) to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. The roles and responsibilities described below span the entire production cycle of the program.
Electrical/Component and Assembly Responsibilities- Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic and electro‑mechanical components in evaluating new components for assembly and subassembly design.
- Directly supports subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for company usage per the contract and the Parts Management Plan.
- Uses understanding of aircraft and weapons design/requirements to recommend new and alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.
- Represents company at electrical and electronic component national committees.
- Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical performance and schedule requirements.
- Incorporates environmental health and safety (EHS), LEAN and quality principles into materials and processes, research and qualification, work procedures and labs and office areas.
- Leads others, establishes work statements, defines strategies and/or provides consultation with peers while keeping management informed.
- Conducts obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using component monitoring and surveillance tools, predictive obsolescence systems, OEM/supplier surveys, etc.
- Monitors Government‑Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) alerts and provides obsolescence status reports to programs and government customers (Navy, Air Force, DoE, etc.).
- Develops obsolescence mitigation resolution options and business case analyses supporting the recommendations.
- Prepares presentation material to communicate DMSMS case issues and proposed resolutions to customers and programs.
- Leads periodic DMS meetings with internal and external DoD and industry customers on company STL programs.
- Applies understanding of aircraft and weapons design/requirements to recommend new and alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs.
- Represents St. Louis site/programs at company enterprise DMS meetings.
- Develops technical and cost proposals.
- Develops counterfeiting testing to define probability of electrical component being counterfeit.
- Reviews draft program Statements of Work and Contract Deliverables, recommending wording for company tasks.
- Reviews and assists in the implementation of DoD Parts Management program requirements, ensuring the integrity and appropriate use of parts per application requirements.
- Maintains and implements improvements in software tools used to support DMSMS activities.
- Assists programs in identifying and managing obsolescence risks.

Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
