The F‑22 Raptor Team is seeking an Associate System Design Engineer in Berkeley, MO or Richardson, TX to join the F‑22 Raptor Mission Design and Analysis Team with a focus on developing cutting‑edge engineering solutions to advance the world’s premier air fighter.
As an Associate System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering solutions for the F‑22 Raptor, including both enhancing existing field units with the addition of new capabilities and architecting and testing completely new systems. You will join a cross‑functional team to progress our products through the development lifecycle. Tasks include developing requirements to support customer needs, designing a networked architecture to enable new capabilities, and authoring test plans and procedures.
PositionResponsibilities
- Collaborate with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin teammates to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for F‑22 avionics sub‑systems and weapon system architecture.
- Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications in support of lab and operational environments.
- Define verification procedures for critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.
- Review test data, including off‑nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education.
- Ability to obtain F‑22 Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
- Capable of traveling 10% of the time.
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, engaging with multiple teams and being responsive to agile requirements and critical path customer need dates.
- Experience in avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems role.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
