The F-22 Raptor Team is seeking an Associate System Design Engineer in Berkeley, MO or Richardson, TX to join the F-22 Raptor Mission Design and Analysis Team with a focus on developing cutting edge engineering solutions to advance the world's premier air fighter.
As an Associate System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing engineering solutions for the F-22 Raptor, including both enhancing existing field units with the addition of new capabilities as well as architecting and testing completely new systems. In this role, you will be joining a cross‑functional team to progress our products through the development lifecycle. Tasks include developing requirements to support customer needs, designing a networked architecture to enable new capabilities, and authoring test plans and procedures.
PositionResponsibilities
- Collaborates with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and Lockheed Martin teammates to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for F‑22 avionics sub‑systems and weapon system architecture
- Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications in support of lab and operational environments
- Defines verification procedures for critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements
- Reviews test data, including off‑nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 2+ years of related work experience and a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
- Ability to obtain F‑22 Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options
- Capable of traveling 10% of the time
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, engaging with multiple teams and being responsive to agile requirements and critical path customer need dates
- Experience in avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems role
- Experience with agile development methodologies
