Production Technician

£28,000 - £33,000 Tring

9-day fortnight

Are you good with your hands, technically minded and someone who takes real pride in getting things right?

We're recruiting a Production Technician for an established engineering business in Tring, working on the build and test of sophisticated, precision-engineered equipment.

This is not high-volume production line work. You'll be building complex products at a bench, working from engineering drawings and seeing the equipment come together from individual components through to final test.

What you'll be doing

Precision mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly

Building from engineering drawings and work instructions

Testing and verifying completed assemblies

Using hand tools and precision measuring equipment

Fault finding and resolving build issues

Working as part of a small, experienced production team

Maintaining high standards of quality and 5S

What we're looking for

You'll need previous hands-on experience within assembly, manufacturing, production, testing or a similar technical environment.

We're particularly interested if you can:

Read and understand engineering drawings

Confidently use hand tools and measuring equipment

Assemble and test technical products

Spot when something isn't right and work out why

Work accurately without sacrificing quality

Experience with soldering, crimping, electrical assembly, ERP systems, 5S or product verification would be a bonus.

More than anything, we're looking for someone who is switched on, reliable and genuinely enjoys hands-on technical work.

And the working pattern is a big plus...

You'll work a 9-day fortnight, giving you every other Friday completely off.

Week 1:
Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm
Week 2:
Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:30pm, Friday OFF

If you're looking for a hands-on technical role where you can work on genuinely interesting equipment, develop your skills and become part of a great team, we'd love to hear from you
