Are you practical, technically minded and looking for a hands‑on role where quality and attention to detail matter more than rushing to hit volume targets?

We’re recruiting a Production Technician to join a specialist manufacturing business in Tring. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in production, assembly, testing or repair who enjoys hands‑on work and wants to join a supportive, established team.

The role

Working within a high‑quality, technical production environment, you’ll support the build, assembly, testing and repair of specialist equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out hands‑on assembly and build work
  • Following technical drawings, specifications and work instructions
  • Testing and checking products to ensure they meet required standards
  • Using hand tools and basic test/measuring equipment
  • Completing production and technical documentation accurately
  • Supporting basic fault finding and repair activities
  • Working across different assemblies depending on production requirements
  • Maintaining high standards of quality and safe working

This isn't a high-volume production line. There will be repetitive elements to the work, so we're looking for somebody who genuinely enjoys detailed, methodical, hands‑on work and takes pride in getting things right.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll have previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly, testing or repair and be comfortable working in a technical environment.

Experience with in mechanical, electrical or electro‑mechanical assembly would be particularly useful, along with any exposure to:
  • Technical or engineering drawings
  • Soldering
  • Testing or diagnostics
  • Precision manufacturing
  • Continuous improvement / 5S
  • ERP or production systems

You don't need to tick every box. A good technical aptitude, willingness to learn, reliability and excellent attention to detail are just as important.

What's on offer?
  • Salary up to £33,000, depending on experience
  • 9-day fortnight
  • Daytime working hours
  • Alternating Friday early finish / Friday off
  • Regular 3-day weekends
  • Opportunity for overtime depending on workload

    Full on-the-job training
  • Specialist safety training provided
  • Supportive and established production team
  • Opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist technical manufacturing environment

If you're a reliable, hands‑on person who enjoys technical assembly and takes pride in producing work to a high standard, we'd love to hear from you.
