POSITION OPEN: JV Softball Head Coach

2026 Spring Season

COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience per Berkley Athletics Pay Schedule

• Previous coaching or playing experience in softball
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid Certified (or willingness to obtain)

• Plan and run daily practices that build skills, confidence, and teamwork
• Create a positive, inclusive team environment that supports student‑athlete development
• Teach foundational softball skills, game concepts, and strategies appropriate for the JV level
• Set clear expectations focused on effort, sportsmanship, and accountability
• Communicate effectively with student‑athletes, families, and the varsity coaching staff
• Lead the JV team in all contests and assist with game‑day preparation
• Supervise athletes before, during, and after practices and games
• Collaborate with the varsity head coach to ensure program alignment
• Ensure student‑athletes meet all team, school, and MHSAA requirements
