Senior Sourcing Agent (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid – primarily office; additional travel to MA/CT/NH as required.
Employment Type: Full‑time, Regular – 1 opening.
Role and ScopeDrive procurement sourcing strategies, manage bid processes, and negotiate purchases of materials, equipment, and services for medium to high complexity requirements. Serve as a technical expert and coach for less experienced colleagues.
Hybrid Status: First three months fully in office.
Essential Functions- Tactical: Collaborate cross‑functionally through supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract implementation.
- Identify and implement best practices in all procurement processes.
- Provide expertise and advice on strategic approaches to business partners and colleagues, ensuring adherence to procurement policies and overall compliance.
- Improve supply‑base capabilities and key business processes; implement value‑added best practices in sourcing and contract management.
- Promote strategic and operational functions such as volume aggregation, standardization, and supplier base optimization.
- Conduct RFPs, negotiate, and execute high‑complexity contracts; support internal business partners and suppliers on assigned procurement activities.
- Coordinate with end users and suppliers for high‑level oversight and timely issue resolution.
- Lead complex sourcing projects, authoring, negotiating, and executing agreements that mitigate risk and drive value.
- Proactively seek opportunities for negotiated cost savings through strategic negotiations.
- Understand contracting practices and General Terms & Conditions (GTC).
- Establish and monitor contract and supplier performance, including KPI review for medium complexity categories.
- Produce and analyze Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) scorecards.
- Evaluate supplier agreements for significant contributions to supply chain sustainability.
- Update, process, and accurately approve procurement records; identify data issues and collaborate with business partners.
- Strategic: Build supportive internal and external relationships within Procurement and across functions.
- Consistently communicate effectively with various business groups, strategically positioning information to engage and influence decisions.
- Leverage deep knowledge of tools, systems, and processes to add value and drive change.
- Advanced sourcing and procurement best‑practice process knowledge.
- Expertise in category area and purchasing/inventory systems.
- Strong understanding of contract language and terms.
- Solid grasp of business and financial principles.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and influencing skills.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills at multiple organizational levels.
- Demonstrated project management, leadership, conflict management, and collaboration.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience- 5–8 years related experience, including strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier development.
- Experience with contract drafting, contract management, and supplier qualification/certification.
- Prior commodity and supplier relationship management experience.
- Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).
- Six Sigma, Lean, Process, or Project Management certifications desirable.
- Availability for emergency restoration assignments.
- Travel up to 25% between MA, CT, and NH.
- Office environment requiring standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, typing, and communication.
- May involve repetitive hand movements and occasional standing or bending.
