We have an opening in our Mortise Lock Engineering Team for a motivated Designer to collaborate with the engineers on CAD modelling, drawing creation, PDM coordination and processing engineering change requests.
This position will located onsite full-time in our Berlin, CT facility.
This position will report to the Director of Engineering of our Mortise Lock platform.
What you will be doing- Product Design – Conceptual designs using 3D modeling and 2D drawing development
- Work closely with Engineers in developing 3D model concepts and 2D layouts
- Process Engineering Change Notices (EN’s) and release drawings
- Part, sub-assembly and assembly drawing creation using standardized formats
- Maintain Engineering documentation and electronic system (PDM/PLM experience preferred)
- Assist Purchasing with documentation requests to ensure vendors are receiving accurate product documentation
- Stay current with engineering software, coordinate and recommend upgrades as necessary
- Work closely with database maintenance personnel to assist in the accuracy of product structures within the MRP system and product configurator
- Assist in product testing
- Miscellaneous email correspondence, document control, etc.
- An Associate’s degree in an Engineering discipline preferred
- Entry level designing experience in a manufacturing company preferred
- Training in CAD (Solid Works preferred)
- Training in PDM/PLM (Teamcenter preferred)
- Training in ERP/MRP (JDE preferred)
- Experience reading and implementing GD&T
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Well organized and highly motivated
