Materials Expeditor

The Material Expeditor is responsible for coordinating the timely delivery and movement of materials, parts, and assemblies to support aerospace manufacturing operations. This role ensures that production schedules are met by proactively identifying and resolving material shortages, delays, or discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to identify material needs.
• Communicate with suppliers, purchasing, and logistics teams to expedite critical parts.
• Track and report the status of materials in transit or on order.
• Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams to prioritize incoming shipments.
• Resolve issues related to delayed, damaged, or incorrect shipments.
• Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory adjustments.
• Support production teams by ensuring timely delivery of kits and components to workstations.
• Participate in daily production meetings to provide material status updates.
• Use ERP/MRP systems to manage material flow and update order statuses.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of experience in material handling, logistics, or expediting—preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, File Maker).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and production schedules is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
