As a Security Officer – Unarmed Utilities Patrol in Berlin, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as utilities. In this part‑time role you will monitor and patrol designated utility locations, helping to deter security‑related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and deliver outstanding customer service.

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
• Monitor for unusual activity or potential hazards within the utility environment and promptly report findings according to site procedures.
• Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security matters and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patrols, incidents, and security observations as required.

• Access control or badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
