Physician - Neurologist

Full Time Physician - Neurologist - 4 or 4.5 days/week

We are looking for a full-time board certified neurologist to join a highly productive, skilled, and popular neurologist at AVH and selected outreach clinic sites to help meet clinical demands for services and build a neurology service for North Country Healthcare (system of 3 Critical Access Hospitals).

Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults), including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCP’s.

Most commonly diagnoses encountered are:

• Migraine
• Memory loss
• Essential tremor
• Parkinson’s disease
• Cognitive impairment
• Dizziness
• Epilepsy
• Multiple sclerosis
• Polyneuropathy
• Headache

Partners with other members of neurology team (e.g., neurologist colleague, radiologist, EEG technologists, MA’s and RN’s, physical therapists).

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification in Neurology
• Prefer candidates have prior experience (at least 2-5 years) in broad spectrum of general neurology.
• Selected new graduates from residency or fellowship training may be eligible
• H1-B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered if excellent communication skill
• Team oriented, collaborative, and patient focused. High level of customer service (patient satisfaction) is expected
