The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is an important part of the healthcare team. They should have knowledge, skills, and professionalism when working with patients and colleagues. The RT must provide care that is suitable for patients of different ages and backgrounds. It’s important for this person to know the hospital's rules and the standards set by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
There is no on-call schedule because the hospital has respiratory services available 24 hours a day. Under the guidance of doctors and supervision of the Clinical Supervisor in Cardiopulmonary Services, the RT gives treatments and tests related to breathing as per doctor’s orders and hospital policies in this 25-bed Critical Access hospital.
- Provide treatments and tests related to breathing per doctor’s orders and hospital policies.
- Work under the guidance of physicians and the Clinical Supervisor in Cardiopulmonary Services.
- Deliver care suitable for patients of different ages and backgrounds.
- Follow hospital rules and AARC standards.
- Support 24-hour respiratory services in a 25-bed Critical Access hospital.
- Graduate from an approved Respiratory Care Program.
- Current license or registration to practice in New Hampshire.
- Knowledge of current practices for respiratory care.
- Current ACLS certification or eligibility to be certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Must obtain PALS and NRP certifications within six months of starting the job.
- Must be CPR Certified and demonstrate good judgment in diagnostic and treatment practices.
- Neonatal resuscitation certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of respiratory physiology and related diseases.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Good communication skills. Preference for five years of experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Familiarity with computers and willingness to learn new software.

- PALS
- Must have a New Hampshire license or a Compact license.
- The license must be ready when applying; the facility will not wait for the license to be issued.
